Cora Wen will teach Crossing the Bridge and Rotator Relief, featured here with the Thank Pink Three Minute Egg
This weekend Cora Wen will join fellow experts Leslie Howard and Sterling Painton, in the body, yoga and respective areas of specialization for a Therapeutics Workshop series. Offered for both teachers interested in learning to incorporate therapeutic yoga into their teaching, as well as students who wish to gain increased insight into their own body, the workshops are hosted by Yoga Bloom at the California Yoga Center with locations in Palo Alto and Mountain View.
Beginning on Saturday, February 4, the first day of workshops is available for women only. San Francisco-based yoga teacher Leslie Howard will be teaching The Female Pelvis from 2:00-5:00 pm, centering on strengthening and stabilizing the pelvic floor in a practice that truly defines “core work.” Cora closes the day from 5:30-7:30 pm with Crossing the Bridge, a multi-generational workshop that demonstrates how to set up and practice specific poses best for various stages of the female life span.
Sunday, February 5, is open to all yogis. The day begins with Hand Therapy Yoga (Parkinson’s Disease) offered by Sterling Painton from 2:00-4:30 pm. Sterling, an Iyengar-based yoga teacher, has specialized in work with those afflicted with Parkinson’s for eight years. The workshop will share several sequences to help free the upper extremities (i.e. the hands, forearms, shoulders, and necks) from the repetitive motions of our technology-based lifestyles. Cora’s Rotator Relief workshop follows from 5:00-7:30 pm, with a shoulder therapy emphasis in which the Three Minute Egg® will be used as an accompanying prop. Cora reminds us that the shoulder is the most complex joint in the body, and it is most vulnerable to injury as it is the most flexible joint while the least stable.
Having recently partnered with 3ME to create our latest Egg, Cora will be using the Thank Pink Three Minute Egg, a Hot Pink Namastegg that features the 3ME logo on one side and the Yoga Bloom logo on the other. Breast cancer is an issue close to Cora’s heart, and this Egg represents our commitment to breast cancer awareness and education, 10% of all Thank Pink Egg sales will be donated to Breast Cancer Awarenetss. For more information about the Thank Pink Eggs check out the 3ME blog and the 3ME Products page as well as Cora’s website.
