At Three Minute Egg®, we are not the type to toot our own horn. Wait, yes we are. It’s just one of the ways we spread the word about the products we are so proud of. Of course, it is always better when someone else tells us how much they like our yoga props, and that’s what this is about.
It’s one thing when workshop attendees gush about how much they like using the Eggs in their practice. We see that after every workshop and we appreciate it every time. But it’s quite another when fans we haven’t even met put into writing what a difference the Three Minute Egg® yoga blocks have made in their practice.
It is with great joy that we’d like to share (more…)

This just in! An Angel’s Kiss website has posted a review of the Three Minute Egg® Yogi Meal Starter Kit. The review showed up on our radar last night, and we wanted to share it with you. The Eggs continue to reach a wider and wider audience.
The review begins with an interesting connection no one has ever made before: “Our aura is egg shaped … and now so are yoga props.“ We have also heard that the universe is egg-shaped, so maybe the Three Minute Egg® touches a deeper place than originally considered. What do you think? Is it fantasy or a deeper reality?
An Angel’s Kiss reviews how the Eggs came into being as a treatment for back pain, and then reveals how Angel and her family is using the product: “They have an endless amount of uses, and I find them to be very valuable in my own home practice.“ She calls the Three Minute Egg® “highly recommended!” What more can you ask for?
To read the entire review, go to An Angel’s Kiss website. If you have any questions about the Eggs or the Yogi Meal Starter Kit, contact us.

Our Canadian family continues to grow with the addition of KYOGAH, a yoga studio with a mission to foster a community for students, teachers, and practitioners.
Located in Kelowna, BC, the studio “braids the three elements of Yoga, Healing & Welcome,” with a room dedicated to each strand. We’re so happy that KYOGAH has adopted the Egg into their unique approach to health and wellness.
In a recent review posted to their blog, KYOGAH raises issues we have commonly heard from others, as well, in using the traditional rectangular yoga blocks.
There are three uses that they highlight in their comparison of the Egg vs. the rectangle.
1. Supported Supine Heart Opener—This is presented as the KYOGAH favorite of all yoga poses when incorporating the Egg. Without the corners of the rectangular block, the Egg allows for maximum comfort when placed between the shoulder blades and lying over it. They write that they are “loving this pose now because the Three Minute Egg supports the contours of your body.”
2.
Mountain Pose—Often times students are taught to place a yoga block between their thighs to maximize engagement and sense the rotation of your femurs. In their practice, however, KYOGAH found that they prefer the Egg because it “is lightweight and easier to hold, and the shape of the Egg allows it to fit perfectly between the legs.” Add an additional Egg between the hands to engage the shoulders and maintain balance.
3.
Supported Triangle/Side Angle/Ardha Chandrasana—It’s common to utilize a block to maintain an open chest rotation and an extended reach to the ground. With the Egg, however, KYOGAH writes that “its slight instability actually stops you from leaning too heavily on it.” They also point out that the lightness creates ease in holding onto it as you move into the pose, “rather than having to locate and adjust a heavy block afterward.” Altogether, the use of the Egg in this pose allows you to achieve “the height you need without losing the integrity of your core.”
We look forward to hearing more positive uses of the Eggs at the Kelowna yoga studio, and many thanks for the awesome review!
You can find them at 115 Guisachan Village, 2365 Gordon Drive, Suite #115. Stop by or give them a call at (778) 484-5511.

While yoga is not an activity that necessarily requires gear to participate, Alignyo points out that there are props that help to support and enhance your practice. Of the three props that they mention, the thriving online yoga community begins their article by exploring the Three Minute Egg®.
Alignyo found that the ergonomic design of the Eggs is “more aligned with the shape of your body, making the egg an ideal fit for between your legs (think mountain pose or backbends).” They note the availability of different Egg densities: Hard-Boiled for support in weight arm balances, and the softer Namastegg, ideal for supporting your head and spine. The latter is their preference, finding that “these cushiony eggs are a great comfort in restorative poses like supported fish.”
Ultimately, they concluded that “your standard block will still do the trick, but if you are a fan of restorative yoga, we recommend trying the Namastegg as a comfy addition to your reclining postures.”
The blog went on to recognize (more…)

In the Fall 2011/Winter 2012 blog for the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States (IYNAUS), one of America’s senior Iyengar Yoga teachers, Joan White, has written a wonderful review of the Three Minute Egg. Joan brings the conversation to the table by admitting that she “understand[s] the resistance to yoga props that are not yet being sold by the Institute in Pune,” however with careful and deliberate experimentation she has found a positive response amongst her introduction of the Eggs to students in her workshops around the world.
Joan writes that she has even given some Eggs to B.K.S. Iyengar for Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI), the heart and soul of Iyengar Yoga. RIMYI is located in Pune, Maharashtra, where Iyengar resides. Jason will be headed over to India on January 4th for a month-long hangout with the Iyengar (more…)

While the recession may endure an indeterminable course, it is still the holidays after all and, alas, shopping season is upon us. We were flattered to be included in the Denver Post’s 2011 Holiday Gift Guide that was released this week.
Amongst a list of products that include a range of health, wellness, and fitness products, Doni Luckutt points to the Three Minute Egg as an alternative to yoga blocks that is versatile in function, with an “ergonomic shape [that] contours the body.” While traditionally a yoga prop Luckutt tells us not to limit our perspective, as it “provides firm support to stretch tight areas and provide foundation for weak ones (for instance, the wrists).”
As with the traditional purpose of the Eggs created by owner/inventor Jason Scholder, Luckutt finds use in the Eggs for stretching the lower back. “Placing six individual Eggs under the [lower] back, supporting the head, cradling the back of the knees and lifting the arms provides an excellent, relaxing reclined position that rejuvenates and restores,” she says.
For carpal tunnel syndrome Luckutt finds that the Eggs are wonderful for wrist protection, applicable “for gymnasts, acrobats, yogis and others who wrest on the wrists for pushups, handstands, and the like.”
Thank you for the mention, Doni, and for the awesome holiday shopping advice!

With the holidays upon us and, thus, resolutions right around the corner, we could not be more excited to have teamed up with Diets in Review.com to participate in a supreme yoga giveaway. The website contains a spectrum of in-depth information and education from health professionals about healthy living, encouraging constructive weight loss that results from healthy lifestyle changes.
We had the fortune of gaining a personal training perspective in a review by Kelly. Her experience with the Eggs gave her insight into how best to add them to not only a yoga practice, but also a fitness routine. Like most people, she found that her favorite use for the Eggs is for stretching and supporting the back in reclined poses. She found that “placing two Eggs behind your shoulder blades allows you to arch over top [of] the Eggs and get a great supported stretch, perfect for tight chests and easing lower back pain.” Her insight brings to light issues that most can identify with, that “working on the computer for a living, coupled with an old back injury, has left me with the posture of a question mark, and the Three Minute Egg has been the first thing I have found that perfectly arches with my back to counteract the Quasimoto hump.”
Be sure not to miss an amazing opportunity to be the winner of their 2011 Yogi Gift Guide Giveaway. This package offers our Namastegg Starter Kit, along with Element: Hatha & Flow Yoga for Beginners DVD, a yoga mat and towel from Manduka Yoga, a MeSheeky Odette skirt, and a one-year subscription to Om magazine. What are you waiting for? Find out how you will win here.

I immediately fell in love with the Eggs when I received them last Wednesday. Your Three Minute Eggs are well made and well designed. The shape, texture and weight of each Egg invites the body to trust its surface!
I am an Occupational Therapist in private practice in San Francisco. I am a yoga student, but not a yoga teacher. I work with young children, school age children, adolescents, and young adults. My clients usually present with developmental, motor, attention and often learning disorders. The severity of their challenges range from mildly evident to very significant and in many cases they possess good to gifted intelligence. I have also followed several autistic students from preschool to young adulthood.
I use yoga as a “therapeutic modality” in my work together with other therapeutic tools as I address (more…)

Blocks have been by far my favorite Yoga prop. I find there’s nothing better to use for removing blockages, for needed support, for propping up body parts in restorative poses. Well, ordinary blocks may need to be stacked aside now that I’ve discovered the 3-Minute Egg.
Fortunately, these are eggs that are vegan-friendly, so named for their oblong shape. They’re fashioned from the same foam material as standard blocks, but their rounded shape gives them the perfect curve for supporting the spine, the neck or the low back in any of the restorative asana interludes that make it possible for me to edit this magazine for hours on end hunched over a computer screen. The rounded edges of the eggs also make them a nice hand-hold for lunges and jump-backs in held poses and vinayasa sequences.
The company’s owner and inventor Jason Scholder has adapted them for use in his own practice and
he’s a passionate advocate for their use. He’s not the only one. The other day, I had to scavenge my set from my housemate’s bedrooms, where they had decided to enlist the eggs for their own restorative practices. Find Scholder and the three-minute eggs in the Vendor Village at Bhakti Fest, September 9 -12, or online: threeminuteegg.com.
